Matrix

You can’t stay in the Matrix and simultaneously escape the matrix.

Sometimes we confuse recognising the matrix with escaping it.

Sometimes we believe that achieving momentary peace from within the matrix is somehow escaping it.

It’s only when you step outside it that you truly realise the hold it had on you, the lies it told you and that you believed without question (despite your self-lauded critical thinking skills), the control it had over you, the way it manipulated and gaslit you.

You realise that all of those that offered you a path out of the Matrix were really ushering you further in. Everything you did to make life in the Matrix more bearable ensconced you inexorably deeper within it. And unknowingly you became a vociferous proponent of the Matrix, part of its great propaganda machine.
